The Aurora Historical Society is a self-funded, not-for-profit cultural institution “giving the past a future” in Aurora since 1906.

Financial Support
The 1857 Tanner House Museum, the “Aurora Story” walk-through exhibit at the David L. Pierce Art and History Center in downtown Aurora, and our Research Center and Archives comprise a widespread enterprise.  The General Fund undergirds our operations, programming, and personnel expenses.  Your support is critical to building upon 112 years of effort and ensuring we’ll still be going strong in the future.  Please click below to make a donation.  Thank you!

Collections Support
Over the years, we have amassed impressive collections of material culture, photos, and documents.  If you have artifacts or memorabilia that illustrate life in Aurora, whatever the era, please consider offering them to the Historical Society.  We will accept items on conditional loan so that the Collections Committee can research them, and then advise you about whether they have a place in our collection.  In case your donation is a duplicate or otherwise does not fit our parameters, you decide the next step.  And don’t forget — history happens every day, so we collect from all periods, including the present!  Call Executive Director John Jaros at (630) 906-0650 or stop by the gift shop at the Pierce Art and History Center, 20 East Downer Place, 60505.  Open Wednesdays-Saturdays, Noon-4pm.

Volunteer Support
